I love this hat. I have owned an Outback Trading Low Rider Duster (http://www.amazon.com/Outback-Trading-Oilskin-Duster-Large/dp/B000KRRAQU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1362073204&sr=8-2&keywords=oilskin+duster) for some time now and I have always wanted to pick up a hat to along with it. I live out in Idaho and the southern deserts can get quite cold, windy, and often rainy during certain parts of the year. I needed a hat that could keep the rain off of me without too much trouble and wouldn’t be hard to maintenance or keep clean. I’m pretty sure this is it.Right out of the box, this hat looked great! It is indeed made of Oilskin and I’m pretty sure you could maintenance it with Duckback dressing (http://www.amazon.com/Outback-Oilskin-Duckback-Dressing-Oz/dp/B002SEFJRK/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=H8CU5VHV7M58&coliid=I3NFWSDXFD5LZX&psc=1) if it ever begins to get worn down. The hat is flexible, but retains its shape very well. I don’t think I would try crushing it, but that’s just me. The brim was a bit larger than I thought, but that is not a bad thing. It definitely looks Australian rather than American Western and I actually really enjoy that fact. I got the XLarge size because I have a large head and I plan to grow out my hair soon as I am very close to finishing my military service. Because of this, the hat is slightly big for me, but not too much so. I'm sure it will fit my head just right once I get my hair grown to the length I want (I currently sport a high-and-tight buzzcut due to my military service). The hat still sits right where I want it to and it looks great. It is also quite sturdy for such an affordable hat. I am sure that I will keep this hat for many years to come.One little thing that made me happy was the color. My duster is a dark brown that almost looks black in the right light. I was concerned that whatever hat I got would look mismatched to the coat if I wore them together. No problem there! This hat is a very dark chocolate brown color that matches my duster just fine. Lastly, if anything happens to this hat later on (falls apart, can’t hold up in weather, etc.) I will update my review accordingly.
