I had this hat years ago and just now found them again! I love this style of hat and the utility it brings. I have worn this hat everywhere from sightseeing to mowing the lawn and it has been great in any environment. My favorite memory is hiking through the woods with some friends when it started to rain. As we made our way to some shelter, the rain slid right off this hat and it protected me fantastically. Unfortunately, years ago I lost my favorite hat in an airport...But fear not! I just received my new model in the mail this morning. As soon as I put it on, I knew it was a great fit. It really did feel just like my hat from the past. I wear a 7 1/2 hat for the military, so I went with the XL based on the new sizing chart in the picture section of amazon. This fit perfectly! I would definitely recommend that chart and not the old one that is in the sizing section.Thank you Bramah for making an amazing product, and i look forward to trying more of your collection in the future!I ordered this hat as an exact replacement for one that I have had for 7 years now. I've worn the original daily in a variety of settings from Africa to, Europe the USA and the Indian sub-continent and it has never let me down. The old hat performs well despite being stuffed in suitcases, sat on and endured rain, wind and snow. The hat keeps its shape well and retains its color. The new hat appears to be of even better quality. I recommend this product if you need good functional sun and rain protection and do not want to fuss about packing it carefully. The hat folds very well and bounces back to retrieve its shape. The only failing is that it can get a bit hot when the weather is extreme and you can get sweat lines along the hat band. Otherwise a real star!Disliked the fact that they didn’t come with the string/ cord we bought 2 of them years ago in Australia and they came with a cord/string, now I have to take the time to order the cords but I think theyare too expensive through your company just saying ! But I love the Hat but they just look the same without the cords ! My husbands didn’t have a cord eitherI wish I read the reviews before I bought the hat. You should definitely go one size larger than what you usually wear as they are a little bit tighter than usual sizes. But I loved it so much that I didn't want to wait another week to wear it. Like I said it's a little bit on the tighter side but I wear it everyday and I receive a lot of compliments everywhere I go. It is definitely the best hat that I ever owned (which it better be as it is on the very pricey end as well). I suffer through the headaches and lightheadedness of the tight hat just to be seen with it. I will definitely invest in a hat stretcher later on. But, all in all, this is a fantastic hat and I highly recommend it.be really happy with your fit. I ordered the same size Barmah leather Foldaways as one I have been wearing for ten years (still good- wanted other colors). I even double-checked my measurement in accordance with sizing posted by Barmah. Both hats were just a bit on the tight side, and that is still true even after I constructed a wooden stretcher and have been using it on the hats for two weeks now. If you are at the upper end of the sizing range on the tape measure, I advise going up a size. The hats are all well-made and receive lots of compliments.I really like Barmah hats for their fit and quality at a very reasonable price. Not disappointed in this latest purchase. One suggestion would be to be put a sweat barrier in the crown to prevent the sweat from leaching through the top of the hat, it would look nicer longer.This is my 3rd hat over at least 15 years. I bought the first two identical hats on two trips to Australia. People ALWAYS notice and compliment me on this hat. I'm glad I found a source outside of Australia that I can purchase future hats. It's cheaper than flying to Australia for replacement hats.Shipped and arrived just as expected. Originally sized up per other people reviews. Contacted Barmah and exchanged with no problem. Fit exactly by their chart. Would highly recommend!
