Love this hat for the pool, lake or just to keep the sun off of my face outside. It's made of a fabric I'm not familiar with but one perfect for most outdoor activities. Although I have not had the occasion to do so, I'm sure one can get it wet. It will certainly retain its shape. I like the width of the rim and length. Water will run right off of it, and water won't drip into your eyes. It has VERY small round holes in the top that enable it to breathe more than most bucket hats. Lastly, this tye-dye look is back in this year. Some of us remember it from the first time around. I always liked it, so why not. This hat is unisex for sure. Tye-dye isn't specific to gender. :*)
