MARMOT Men's Precip Eco Jacket - Lightweight Waterproof Rain Jacket for Hiking, Camping & Outdoor Adventures

I bought this Marmot rainjacket/windbreaker in Medium for backpacking. Its generous cut easily accomodates my baselayer and insulating wool warmth layer on cool rainy days, and the addition of a fleece layer on colder rainy treks, and its waterproof qualities are as good as any soft-shell jacket.The drawstring hood is adequate especially with a billed cap, and rolls up behind the neck with velcro when not needed.I especially like the interior layer; this lining is a bit "krinkel-ly", but it is very soft against the skin and seems to do an excellent job preserving the warmth of my other layers, without condensation from outside temps and rain.At aprox. 300 grams, the Marmot is almost 100 grams lighter than my Columbia, and at least equal in oerformance! Both have been tested on the trail in similar conditions.In addition to the pit-zips, the Marmot features two LARGE interior mesh "pockets" which are actually VENTS going straight to the bottom of the jacket. Very adaptable to a variety of conditions.I am completely satisfied with the quality, versatility, and performance of this Marmot 2-layer rain softshell.BTW: the embroidered logo on the left breast of the dark grey is classy,elegant, and subtle!
